πŸ“’ NTA ANNOUNCED : NEET EXAM WILL BE HELD ON 1ST AUG 2021

On March 12, 2021, NTA announced that it will conduct NEET 2021 entrance exam on August 1, 2021, and the exam will be conducted in 11 languages same as it happened last year. NTA is expected to commence the NEET application 2021 shortly. The complete exam schedule is awaited.
 However, in the wake of the surge in COVID-19 cases across India, NEET 2021 exam may get postponed or cancelled. However, there has not been any update on this since the exam date announcement by the conducting authorities.

NEET 2021 will be conducted once a year in offline mode. NTA Director-General Vineet Joshi clarified this on March 10, 2021. He also stated why the delay in the announcement of NEET 2021 dates. He said, "There are a total of 28 boards, two ministries, and NTA involved in the brainstorming process, so the process is taking time." 

NTA has also announced that the scores of NEET 2021 may be used for BSc Nursing and Life Sciences Admissions on March 23, 2021. Recently, JIPMER has also announced that it will grant admission to JIPMER BSc Nursing and other allied courses on the basis of the NEET 2021 score.

NEET 2021: What's New?

  • NTA NEET UG 2021 entrance exam will be held on August 1, 2021. On March 12, 2021, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal "Nishank" confirmed that NEET 2021 will be conducted once via offline mode. The application process to start shortly.
  • NEET 2021 will be conducted once. NTA Director-General Vineet Joshi clarified this on March 10, 2021. Earlier, the Union Health Ministry on February 8, 2021, had given its nod to conduct the exam twice but due to other exam priorities, the decision was stalled. 
  • On March 2, 2021, Secretary, Higher Education, Amit Khare said that the NEET 2021 exam pattern will have no changes, as reported by media portals. “Any changes in the exam with such short notice will be unfair to the candidates preparing for NEET-UG 2021 and any further delay in the entrance test will affect the next session,”  Khare said.
  • NTA also gave clarification on NEET 2021 syllabus, the authority already said that there will be no change or reduction in the syllabus of the NEET 2021 exam. However, this year, due to the syllabus cuts made by CBSE and state boards, NTA would be offering internal choice to students to cover the reduced syllabus.

  • Like last year, NEET 2021 exam will also be conducted in 11 languages including English, Hindi, Tamil, Urdu, Marathi, Bengali, Gujrati, Oriya, Assamese, Kannada, and Telugu. Candidates can select their choice of language at the time of filling the NEET 2021 application form
