BAMS-Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery


BAMS degree is an undergraduate degree awarded after the completion of the 4½ year academics and 1  year internship program with live practice in Hospitals.

Eligibility Criteria of BAMS:-

Student can get admission in BAMS Course after qualifying 10+2 or equivalent examination in Medical  Stream with 50% minimum marks obtaining in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as a core subjects from the recognized board and als0 qualifying the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) or State Level Examinations.

He/She should be 17 years old on or before the time of admission. The upper age limit is 25 years at the time of admission. The upper age limit relaxation for ST/SC/OBC candidates is of 5 years.

BAMS Curriculum: -

BAMS is a study of Ayurveda with latest medical techniques. BAMS curriculum having the three professional sections of 1½ years-

Students learn subjects in the three Professional Sections:-
  1. Anatomy, Physiology and History of Ayurvedic System
  2. Toxicology and Pharmacology
  3. Surgery, ENT, Skin, Obstetrics and Gynecology.
The entire course contains the Modern Anatomy, Principles of Medicines, Physiology, Social and Preventive Medicines, Forensic Medicine, Principle of Surgery, Toxicology, ENT, Botany and Pharmacology. The graduates use the title “Vaidyar” before their name (abbreviation is Vr.)
